Year 7 Hockey Tournament

On Thursday 6th March, the year 7 hockey team went to Penair Secondary School for the Hockey County Championships.

The first game was against Richard Lander, nerves got the better of the team, not playing at their bestand unfortunately lost 2-0.

The second match was against a very strong Truro High school A team. The Tretherras students knew the odds were against them winning, so set themselves a challenge to keep the loss to a maximum of ten goals. The Treherras Students worked extremely hard and achieved their goal, with a respectable 5-0 loss!

Game three  against Liskeard, showed the ability of the Tretherras team, playing their best in the tournament and pushing themselves to the limit. Charity Deakin show brilliant goal keeping skills securing a 3-1 win. Evie Longworth scored our first goal of the day, followed by a second from Natalie Taylor and winning goal by Evie once again.

The last match against Penair, saw the girls play really well and once again working very hard. All the work paid off with a win of 2-0, goal scorers were Ngaire Jones and Evie Longworth. Whilst Charity Deakin had a great game again and saved some great goals, Lady of the Tournament went to Evie Longworth.

Team Tretherras came third with two wins and two losses. Sadly the girls did not qualify to the semi-finals but are ready and waiting to go to the next tournament!

The Tretherras team members were: Charity Deakin (Goal Keeper), Charlotte Coffey, Ella Owen, Evie Longworth, Katie Whitbread Abrutat, Lara Watson Reid, Natalie Taylor, Ngaire Jones and Rhiannon Waldridge.
