On Thursday 22nd June Newquay Tretherras took part in the annual Created Exhibition run by Falmouth University.
Over 50 Newquay Tretherras students submitted work for judging in Creative Writing, Journalism, Photography, Fine Art, Graphic Design and Film and Animation categories.
There was an impressive turn out from parents, who joined students and Newquay Tretherras teaching staff for the private view and awards ceremony.
With a real buzz of excitement on the night Georgie Tanner won first prize for Journalism and 15 students were awarded Highly Commended certificates.
Mr Phil Strugnell, Head of Art at Newquay Tretherras commented, ‘We are extremely proud as a body of creative teachers to see so many of our students attending such a prestigious event and coming away with recognition of their hard work and talents. It is a great reflection of the quality of work produced by the students at Newquay Tretherras’.
Amanda Harris director from KEAP, the Kernow Education Arts Partnership, was so impressed with the quality of English coming out of Newquay Tretherras.
