Text Bundles

Dear Parent/Carer

You may be aware that we have recently provided the opportunity for students to purchase copies of the key texts for Year 9-11 study.  This is in response to the changes in demands and expectations for the English Language and English Literature examinations.  Students are now required to study a text in Year 9 and 10 that they will be assessed on Year 11.  To increase the demands further, these examinations are ‘closed’ book – meanings that students will be required to quote from the text without the book in front of them.  It is becoming increasingly beneficial for students to own their own copies of the text.

I am delighted to inform you that we are now able to provide students with the opportunity to purchase these texts through parent pay at any time during the year.

We are able to offer three different sets for students to choose from:

Bundle A – key texts:

Includes copy of the three key texts (Animal Farm, Macbeth, Jekyll and Hyde) and highlighters £14

Bundle B – Key texts and revision guides:

Includes copy of three key texts (Animal Farm, Macbeth, Jekyll and Hyde), revision guides x6 (English language exam (Paper 1 and 2), Jekyll and Hyde, Macbeth, Poetry, Animal Farm) and highlighters £30

Bundle C – Revision guides only

Revision guides x6 (English language exam (Paper 1 and 2), Jekyll and Hyde, Macbeth, Poetry, Animal Farm) £18

Please ensure that payments are made through parent pay and orders will be checked weekly – this means that there may be a two week delay in the bundles being provided but we will endeavour to get them to students as soon as possible.

We would like to thank you for your ongoing support and if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s English teacher.

Yours faithfully,

R Trevarthen

Lead Teacher of English
