On Wednesday 16th of July, twenty of our Year 10 students spent the day at the University of Exeter’s Cornwall campus in Penryn for a Higher Education taster-day.
The day comprised of a question and answer session on life as a student with current undergraduates Zeya, Jess and Karis, followed by a guided tour of the different buildings and facilities on the campus.
After lunch, students attended a sample lecture with Dr Andrew Mc Innis which focussed on Gothic Literature.
One student commented, “I really enjoyed the English lecture as I learnt lots of new and interesting things and the lecturer was fun and interactive”.
Another of our students reported back, “The best part of the day was getting to talk to real students about life at university. I also really enjoyed the campus tour and seeing the lecture theaters and seminar room.”
Overall the day gave students lots to think about and a great insight into student life.
