Students were given the chance to compete for their Houses in the annual Newquay Tretherras Sports Day.
Adorning House colours, over 1000 students competed in a variety of track and field events whilst parents cheered on from the side-lines on 5th July.
Three school records were broken, Louis Garner cleared 1.48m at the High Jump, Danielle Rawson threw 22.65m at the Javelin and Lewis Cotterill recorded 4 minutes and 49.53seconds at the 1500m event.
The day concluded with a very competitive House relay race, which saw comradery between Pendent House and Wolf Rock House end with both being the last two teams.
Mr Craig Richards, Lead Teacher of PE at Newquay Tretherras added, “It is wonderful to see the whole school participating with such energy and enthusiasm. Competing for House points has added a new exciting element to sports day this year. Student behaved themselves exceptionally well and made the most of the day.”
Mrs Samantha Fairbairn, Headteacher at Newquay Tretherras commented, “It was fantastic to see such a large scale event being enjoyed by both Staff and Students. Congratulations to all the students for taking part and well done to all the event winners.”
The final overall result for the Newquay Tretherras 2016 sports day are: Longships 1210pts, Pendeen 1423pts, Lizard 1489pts, Wolf Rock 1531pts and Godrevy 1555pts.
