Following her success at the Camelford Dressage competition, Year 10 student Shania Knuckey, has been selected to represent North Cornwall in this year’s RDA Dressage Championship in Gloucester.

Back in May, Shania who is a very keen horse rider and rode a horse called Cashew, collected a 2nd place rosette at the Camelford Dressage competition.

Dressage is a very competitive sport in which the rider trains the horse so that it is totally obedient and responsive to the rider.

Shania has ridden every week since the age of 6 and her commitment to the sport has paid off. Gaining over 60% in past competitions has enabled her to be selected from the riding stables at Chiverton near Truro.

Shania commented, “I had a wonderful day and look forward to competing again next year.”

Miss Morris from Newquay Tretherras added, “ We are delighted for Shania and we all wish her lots of luck for her competition in July.”
