Last week, Science Club members at Newquay Tretherras were the first lucky students to try out the department’s recent state-of-the-art purchase – a hovercraft.
The device was purchased using money donated by the PTA and will be used by students in lessons and as part of their Science enrichment activities.
Ciaran Knight, a Year 7 student said, “It was amazing, fantastic, and so fun – I really want one!”
Mr Andrew Saundry, Head of Science at Tretherras said, “This hovercraft is another example of the exciting STEM opportunities that Newquay Tretherras is continuing to develop and invest in. We are extremely grateful to our PTA for all of their support and making this exciting device available to our students – very few schools have such an innovative piece of kit to inspire and engage students.”
