On 2nd June, 12 primary school children from the local area took over the catering kitchens at Newquay Tretherras to take part in a bake off.
In pairs, the students were asked to make, design and decorate cupcakes, before the baked goods were inspected to decide a winner.
Ella Daniels, a Year 5 St Columb Minor student, won and was awarded a baking goody bag that contained cake decorations and a recipe book.
Ella said, “It felt really good to win as I didn’t think that I would at all. I will definitely be using my new cupcake book to bake at home!”
Riya Savan, a Year 5 Bishops pupil commented, “My favourite part of the day has been getting to decorate our cupcakes with chocolate icing and sprinkles.”
Mrs Sam Skelton, Teacher of DT said, “The students were all really keen and produced some amazing cupcakes. It was a great opportunity to meet some of our future pupils and also give them a bit of a taster of senior school life whilst having fun.”
