Creative students at Newquay Tretherras won a series of top-level awards at the Falmouth University’s CreatEd show on Friday 26th June 2014.
52 students from Year 11 and 13 showcased a range of high profile creative work at the prestigious art school, ranging from to Design Technology projects, Media Studies, Literature, Fine Art, Music, Photography and Business Enterprise.
The CreatEd show is the only show in the UK which exhibits the creative talents of students from schools and colleges together. Judges are invited in from leading industries to award prizes in all categories.
Newquay Tretherras where particularly successful this year winning 10 awards to date. This year students were awarded for Fine Art, Photography, Business, Product Design and Music in both the GCSE and A-level categories.
Tretherras Sixth Form student Lea Crumpton won 1st place for her Fine Art work with Danielle Lye winning the 2nd place prize in the same subject. Rosie James took the 1st place prize for Business with Danielle Lye winning 3rd Prize in the same category. Luke Price won the 3rd place prise for Photography.
GCSE students also had great success, with Zeb Strudwick winning 1st place prize for Music. Oliver Peatling won 2nd place prize for the Craft Award, whilst also winning the 3rd place prize in the Product Design category. Hedi Flower and Gabby Cornes both collected 3rd place prizes for their Fine Art work.

Mr Cilla added, “This is fabulous for everyone involved, and we are extremely grateful that Falmouth University hosts this show every year”.
Students work is currently being exhibited at the Newquay Tretherras Art Exhibition, Falmouth School of Art and at Newquay Tretherras.
