Recently, four Sixth Form students from Newquay Tretherras took an all expenses paid trip to University of Cambridge for a residential Open Day.

The students attended informational talks, covering admissions to student life, as well as getting the opportunity to take a punting trip, tour the local area and stay in historical halls.

Lowenna Hawkey, one of the Year 12 student attendees said, “Cambridge was a university I hadn’t originally considered, but I decided to go and see what it was like. I was surprised by how friendly everyone was, and overall the trip was really informative.”

Mr Steve Searle, Head of Sixth Form said, “The event was very well run with lots of opportunities to see different colleges so it was a brilliant opportunity for our students. I would recommend the trip to anyone who is looking at Cambridge.”
