Art Mural Collaboration with Ben Allen

Newquay Tretherras Art students have been working with local artist Ben Allen to create a spectacular bespoke mural.

 

Ben Allen is a Newquay based artist who has his work exhibited around the world and has sold his murals to the likes of Richard Branson and Jade Jagger.

 

During the Tretherras Activities Week, Ben and the students worked together to develop their own school mural which has been is installed outside the Art department.

 

Mr Phil Strugnell, Head of Art at Newquay Tretherras commented, “Working with Ben Allen was a fantastic opportunity for our students, they absolutely loved making the mural and having the chance to work with a professional artist. The results are just stunning!

 

The whole process was capture via time lapse and finished at the end of the week. It is is estimated that the mural took over 200 hrs to design and make. At time-lapse video of the production was made and can be viewed here

 

Local trade suppliers supported the project and donated materials to the students to make the project happen.

 

Mr Strugnell added, “We would like to thank Micro DIY and Paint Spot in Newquay for their kind donation of paint and resources for this project.”

 

Ben Allen commented at the end of the week, “This has been a very creative project, I really enjoyed working this the Tretherras students and have gained as much from working with them as I hope they gained from working with me!”
